Sadly, we only stayed for 2 nights, but we loved it. Cathy was a pure delight, and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had 2 Mountain View rooms, which deliver breathtaking views of the mountains and overlook the Zorgvliet Wine Estate — which is well worth a visit, with lovely wines, good food, and the added benefit that you can stroll there and roll back! The rooms are spacious, and you can open the concertina doors to bring the outside in. Birds are plentiful as they hover over the vines. With a small but clean pool and a great breakfast, Banhoek Lodge is an outstanding choice. You are close enough for a short drive into Stellenbosch town, but far enough away for pure tranquility. I will certainly look to return on my next visit to the Western Cape.
