The term Responsible Travel was coined right here in South Africa at the World Summit on Sustainable Development held in Cape Town in 2002. This concept focuses on minimizing the negative economic, environmental, and social impact of tourism and instead makes positive contributions to local communities, cultural heritage, and conservation wherever possible.
