THE BEST
OF BANHOEK
As part of the inaugural Wine Town Stellenbosch Festival, which launches during early November, the beautiful Delaire Graff Wine Estate, will be hosting a special wine and food dinner on 3 November celebrating the magnificent Banhoek Valley’s vintages. This event will take place at Delaire Graff, one of Banhoek Lodge’s neighbours situated further up the Helshoogte Road.
Derived from “De Bange Hoek”, meaning “Scary Corner”, the Banhoek Valley is imbued with the spirit of the early pioneers who braved the heights of this mountainous pass to face what lay beyond, a valley inhabited by resident elephants, buffalo, lions and leopards. The audacious spirit of these pioneers gave seed to a region rich in viniculture that produces the finest Chardonnay and Cabernet in the country.
To join this oenological exploration of the Banhoek Valley and its terroir, which will shohttps://wineroute.org/events/best-of-banghoek/wcase the regions defining traits visit .
The evening starts at 17h30 with a walk around tasting featuring 8 prominent producers from the Banhoek Valley followed by a six course dinner at Delaire Graff Restaurant paired with the best wines that Banhoek has to offer.
Which wine farm
will you visit today?
South Africa boasts hundreds of beautiful wine farms which are dotted across the Western Cape stretching from the traditional wine regions, in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, to the up and coming routes such as Elgin Valley and the Hemel-en-Aarde regions.
There are so many wine tastings to try, so many beautiful restaurants and so many dozens of unique wine farm experiences to try that it can sometimes feel overwhelming knowing where to start.
This was the reason behind the creation of www.whichwinefarm.co.za, a brand new online information resource, designed to help you narrow down your perfect wine farm experience.
The resource allows you to check opening and closing hours, to find farms that feature jungle gyms or offer picnic facilities. You can search particular wine routes for dog friendly restaurants or plan a route stopping in only at farms with panoramic views. It’s also easy to research which farms specialise in particular wine types and to check tasting room opening and closing hours before you set off.
